Сегодня посчастливилось сделать небольшой тест-драйв нового минивэна от Fiat Chrysler Automobiles — 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Touring-L/

Не буду лукавить и скажу, что автомобиль мне понравился, да, он вышел очень неплохим и в подтверждение этому многочисленные положительные отзывы в том числе от многих автожурналистов.
Я бы поставил его на высшую позицию среди всех минивэнов на американском рынке, в том числе выше, чем Toyota и Honda.

И причиной тому, на мой взгляд, помимо всего прочего, является 9-ти ступенчатый автомат и хороший отзывчивый двигатель. По всей видимости крайслеровцы “допилили” настройку 9ст. автомамата, который дебютировал в 200-м Крайслере, уже почти пару лет назад.
Я ездил на одном из первых 200-х и, оценивая новый минивэн, должен сказать, что он едет намного лучше, чем ехал тот 200-й. Chrysler Pacifica едет намного плавнее и приятнее. Автомат уже адекватно реагирует на нажатие педали газа, машина не дергается и послушно выполняет команды водителя. Без информационной поддержки на спидометре и центральном дисплее, порой тяжело определить на какой передаче находится авто. Но тем не менее при утоплении газа глубже в пол, повышении оборотов свыше 3500 об/мин и авто бодро ускоряется, заполняя салон кайфовым рокотом атмосферной шестерки.

Да, двигатель слышно в салоне на высоких оборотах. Но я скажу, что это ооооочень приятный звуковой оттенок, как с V8, только звук не такой низкий. Кайф, зная, что крайслеровцы улучшили существенно шумоизоляцию, я даже не ожидал услышать такие нотки двигателя в салоне. В то же время при обычной езде двигателя в салоне не слышно/ Причем 2017 Pacifica набирает скорость очень легко, совершенно не сопративляясь переходу на пониженную передачу и держит дорогу стойко и ровно.

И да, шумоизоляция улучшилась. Не могу сказать, что сильно-сильно, поскольку в Chrysler Town & Country Limited шумоизоляция тоже не плохая.
Но беглым внешним осмотром нового минивэна я обнаружил намного более качественную изоляцию колесных арок, всех четырех колес, что в лучшую сторону отличается от Town & Country, а также, что поразило почти полную изоляцию днища авто (!), см. фото.

Ничего подобного не видел никогда на авто такого класса и такого уровня производителя.
Рулевое управление с электрических усилителем (если верно перевел Electric Power Steering) также отзывчивое. Руль совершенно легок в движении, в то же время с достаточной обратной связью и приемлемым откликом на усилие. Я бы тоже такой хотел в Town & Country.

Также значительной разницей в сравнении с предыдущей моделью является то, что авто легче предшественника. Это ощущается моментально. И в купе с достаточно мощним двигателем и 9ст. автоматом — это дает ему то преимущество в том числе над другими вэнами, про которое я говорил. Автомобиль чувствуется легким и ускоряется лучше (легче) и, что ожидаемо, тормозит лучше.
Крайслеровцы усовершенствовали систему складывания кресел второго ряда в пол Stow’N’Go. Теперь эта процедура намного проще и удобнее, процедуру можно посмотреть на видео:

Помимо это они сделали возможность наклона кресла второга ряда вперед вместе с закрепленным на нем детским кресло для освобожения пространства для доступа к третьему ряду кресел. Теперь откинуть кресло второго ряда для доступа к третьему ряду очень легко и удобно.

Chrysler – the inventors of the minivan – is bringing modern design to the segment with the 2013 Town & Country S model. Debuting at the 2012 Los Angeles International Auto Show, the Chrysler Town & Country S is the latest “S” model in the Chrysler line-up, joining the 200 sedan and convertible and 300 sedan. The Chrysler Town & Country S gets exterior and interior enhancements as well as some standard equipment commonly associated with top-line models.

“We tailored the new Town & Country S for the active and style minded consumers. It’s the downtown style for the Town & Country’s uptown looks,” said Saad Chehab, President and CEO – Chrysler Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “It’s more than fitting that we unveil this vehicle in Los Angeles given Town & Country S represents yet another modern take of ‘313’ in the ‘310.’”

Available in Brilliant Black, Deep Cherry Red, Stone White or Billet Silver, the 2013 Town & Country S gets revised trim that adds contrast to the minivan’s typically bright exterior treatment. A black chrome grille is combined with black-background Chrysler Winged badges front and rear, a black rear fascia step pad, “S” model badging, 17-inch aluminum wheels with polished face and black-painted pockets and blacked-out headlight bezels (delayed availability).

The interior features a monotone black interior unique to the Chrysler Town & Country S. It starts with the Black Torino leather seats with an “S” logo embroidered in the seat backs and black Ballistic cloth seat inserts. The seats also feature grey stitching as do the door armrests. Piano Black gloss appliques are found on the instrument panel and on the spokes of the black leather-wrapped steering wheel, and the Chrysler Winged badge on the wheel matches the black background-look of the exterior badging. Finishing interior touches include a black headliner and upper consoles, black center console and an “S” logo in the instrument cluster.

The segment-exclusive dual-screen Blu-Ray DVD system with HDMI input, two USB recharging ports, a 12v outlet and a 115v two-prong outlet is standard. This system, new for 2013, allows rear seat passengers to view standard and Blu-Ray DVDs or to play a high-definition video game system on the new, higher definition, screens. Wireless headphones allow back seat passengers to enjoy this state-of-the-art system without forcing front seat passengers to hear the accompanying audio.

The 2013 Chrysler Town & Country S also features a performance suspension that adds a new level of handling dynamics to the driving experience, yet still provides a comfortable ride that’s expected in a luxury minivan.

Town & Country’s award-winning powertrain delivers best-in-class horsepower without sacrificing fuel efficiency. The 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine is a two-time “Ward’s 10 Best Engine” winner and produces 283 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. The V-6 is mated to the 62TE six-speed automatic transmission. A fuel economizer mode helps the driver maximize fuel efficiency, and premium, lower-rolling-resistance tires, and low-drag brake calipers and rear bearings make great fuel economy possible. Chrysler Town & Country achieves 17 miles per gallon (mpg) in the city, 25 on the highway.

The 2013 Chrysler Town & Country offers over 40 available safety, security and technology features, providing customers the safety they expect to ensure peace of mind when traveling. Standard safety features include ParkView rear back up camera, front seat-mounted air bags, a driver-side inflatable knee blocker, advanced multi-stage driver and front passenger air bags, side-curtain air bags for all three rows, and electronic stability control, including Brake Assist and all-speed traction control. Optional on Touring and standard on Touring L and Limited models is the SafetyTec Group consisting of rain-sensitive windshield wipers, Smartbeam headlamps, ParkSense rear park assist system, Blind-spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Path detection.

New for 2013 is standard trailer sway damping that monitors a towed trailer’s behavior and automatically uses Town & Country’s anti-lock braking system to mitigate any swaying motions.

The 2014 Chrysler Town & Country is a seven-seat minivan that’s offered in four trim levels: Touring, S, Touring-L and Limited. Front-wheel drive is the only drivetrain available. Competitors include the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna.

What’s New on the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country?

For 2014, the Chrysler Town & Country can be had in a 30th Anniversary Edition with special badging on the exterior, gauges and key fob. This special edition features 17-inch polished aluminum wheels, black interior accents and leather upholstery with suede inserts, gray upholstery stitching, power-folding seats for the third row and a larger center console. Heated first- and second-row seats, power-adjustable pedals, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, push-button engine start, keyless entry and chrome door handles are also included with this option.

The Town & Country S is a new addition to the lineup. Features include a black-chrome grille, black headlight bezels, black interior with gray accent stitching and black interior and exterior accents. Additionally, the Town & Country S gets 17-inch polished aluminum wheels with black accents, a performance-tuned suspension, 12- and 115-volt power outlets and wireless headphones for the rear DVD or available Blu-ray entertainment systems.

How Does the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country Compare to Other Minivans?

The Town & Country is costlier than minivans like the Honda Odyssey but competes well in terms of fuel economy and features. It’s a strong seller in its class. Style-wise, it’s less appealing than a lot of SUVs but considerably more spacious.

The 2014 Town & Country is powered by a 283-horsepower, 3.6-liter V-6 engine that generates 260 pounds-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard. Econ mode improves gas mileage by altering shift points and maintaining torque-converter lockup for longer periods. A load-leveling suspension is available.

Significant standard features include integrated side-door tracks, 17-inch aluminum wheels, a chrome grille, power-sliding side doors, a power liftgate and roof rack crossbars that can be stored in line with rails. Other notable features include leather upholstery, automatic air conditioning with rear controls, second-row seats that fold into bins in the floor, a sliding center console with a power outlet and a rear DVD entertainment system with a 9-inch overhead screen. Optional features include a navigation system, a wireless internet hot spot, a power-folding third row, second- and third-row retractable window shades, front- and second-row heated seats and a heated steering wheel.

Standard safety features for the Town & Country include side-impact airbags for the front seats, side curtain airbags for all three rows, antilock brakes, an electronic stability system, traction control, active front head restraints, power-adjustable pedals and a backup camera. Rear parking sensors and a blind spot warning system with rear cross-path detection are optional.

Should I Buy the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country?

The 2014 Chrysler Town & Country is built for seven people, so you can expect versatile seating, storage nooks, a comfortable interior and plenty of kid-friendly features. There are some downsides, though. The comfort of the fold-into-floor seats and third-row legroom leave a lot to be desired, and the navigation screen is small for a vehicle this size. If those aren’t deal-breakers for you, then the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country is worth a closer look.
