What Drivers Are Saying

Drove it home from a dealer 700 miles away, the only place that had the one I wanted available. Frankly amazed with the quality, fit and finish of this new generation beasty. I’m seventy and was willing to put up with what I remembered about corvettes from the old days, because I love the new look. On the road . . . the adjustable setting of the suspension actually worked! It was compliant and smooth beyond expectation. Quiet and comfortable, the only challenge was sussing out the computer system, it is hugely powerful and multilevel. Econo-box: Left Boise full and filled up in Fernly Nevada, on my way to SFO. At Fernly I was able to reset all the computerized tracking systems to zero. My Trip to SFO, about 300 miles, at an average of 65-75 mph netted me an overall average mileage of 32.5 mpg. I have a witness . . . unreal, unexpected and very gratifying. Definatly not something that had entered into my buying decision, but welcome. Buy it you’ll be able to justify it with the good vibe that it carries!!

I have always wanted a Corvette. I only have one regret ,that I waited so long to buy one. It looks great runs even better and it’s scary fast. Everybody admires the way it looks but you have to drive it to really appreciate what this Stingray can do. It is an awesome car. It makes it fun to drive anywhere. The adjustable ride control is great E for economy the car runs on 4 cylinders for great gas mileage and still has reasonable power switch it to sport and acceleration from any speed is never a problem even has track mode for the track. I can not say enough about how fun it is to drive. oh and it projects the speed onto the windshield along with other useful info so you don’t have to take your eyes off the road to see it. is that cool or what? I may not be the best judge of this car compared to other years or other sports cars because I have never had either I just love my car . the attention it gets. the power it has . it is simply AWESOME.

This is the best Corvette made to date. It buries my 2007 Vette, and they got everything right. Great ride, styling, creature features, and all I get is thumbs up as others see it. I have been stopped by Cops just to see it! It will take a little while to get use to the new features, but it worth the time experimenting.

I’ve had 5 previous vettes from the 70’s and 80’s, all new. Since then I’ve had foreign sports cars, SL 550, Jaguar XK8, Lexus SC430. This is the first car I’ve ordered. I couldn’t be happier. The appearance, the ride, the lack of road noise inside the car and the performance is the best ever. This vette may not have the bells and whistles the others have had but what a car and what a head turner. The ride far exceeds my expectations and the performance is awesome.

I drove to Atlantic City today in my black C6 and drove home in a torch red C7. I also owned a C5. The C7 is simply amazing. The styling is outstanding and the interior is finally one to be proud of. The drive home was exhilarating. The power is terrific and the ride smooth and quiet. Once home I spent two hours sitting in it I the garage getting acquainted with the technology and the various features. Sadly it is going to rain the next few days so in the garage it will stay. But once the sun comes out I’ll be out cruising. If you’re thinking about one I say pull the trigger. You get a supercar at a fraction of the price of the all others. Oh. I forgot to mention. it turns heads as you drive down the road!

Just purchased my 2014 stingray convertible. I love everything about it. I fell in love with it the minute I saw one at a show and decided I had to have it. Availability in color and style was limited, but I found one I liked. I got a Z51 3LT with performance exhaust and magnetic ride control. It is very fast and the torque curve just keeps going and going. I love the heads up display. Still have to get used to all the features on it.

The performance exhaust is a must for anyone who buys the new Stingray. Even when turned on, the sound is very reasonable when cruising. When you push it, it is fantastic both in sound and performance. The 3LT package is extra nice with the NAV and lots of leather. The back up camera is large and really practical on a car that is otherwise extreme. Even as a tall guy, I fit nicely, just not lots of choices. The driving mode selections are fun and there is a noticeable change from one to another. Honestly hit 32 mpg on my first 150 mile trip. WOW.

An excellent package for the price. Well worth between 53K-75K depending on what options fit your needs & wants. The interior quality is topnotch. The all-new style is superb; it looks exotic at all angles. Forget the past, this is the new game-changer Corvette! And it’s about time! Thos stuck with the past are in denial or just jealous, IMO. The power, balance, handling, and technological features rival sports cars that are tens of thousands more. The performance is exemplary. Leisure driving or on the track, the new Stingray will give you lots of smiles. Can’t say enough about it. heck, the proof is in the pudding- look at all the continuous awards it is accumulating, worldwide. Like I said, this is a great deal and lots of performance car for the money.

I ordered and bought the car sight unseen. When I got the car I was without words to describe how pleased I was. This is my 5th Corvette and by far the best one yet. The power, the ride, the adaptable controls, the personalization options available, the 5 drive modes are superb. The convertible top that is now fully powered works beautifully. I would highly recommend this car to anyone that had doubts about the new C7

What a great car! I flew to Rhode Island to pick it up. Paul Masse Chevrolet was the best deal by far. Dave Wellington, Jr was great to work with. I wanted Laguna Blue with Kalahari Brown interior. Made the deal and got it the next weekend. I put 953 miles on her the first day. 32.6 mpg without cruise control. The car is beautiful; the interior is beautiful although I would like a more refined 7″ navigation & radio display. The only thing I would improve and that is just being fussy. The seats are so comfortable. After 1,000 miles, I was ready for more. Everywhere – and I mean everywhere, I get looks, photos, questions. 100% positive. Everyone, including the Porsche, BMW & Audi people love it. Great car. What a thrill to drive!

Chevrolet has done it. The Corvette has gone from being a world class sports car with a “but” to a sports car the world finally has to recognize. Put simply, the 2014 Corvette is one of the best sports cars ever born in America.
(Full Disclosure: Remember that time we leaked the 2014 Corvette a couple of years ahead of time? Well, it turns out that didn’t necessarily make GM want us to drive it immediately. But we persevered, begged them, bought them shrimp, and as a Thanksgiving miracle, I got to drive it for the entire weekend. That’s why I was thankful for horsepower this year.)
Exclusive: This is the 2014 Chevy Corvette
The exclusive images you see here, derived from hours spent secretly poring over the sheetmetal of…
Every single time a new Corvette is released, Chevy makes a bunch of promises. “This car competes with the Porsche 911 on every level.” “The interior is vastly improved.” “This is unlike any Corvette that came before.” “This is the new sports car benchmark.”
But the Corvette has never really followed through. The interior, for lack of a better word, has always been crap. On back roads, it’s been point-and-shoot. The styling has been largely derivative, too stuck in the idea that heritage, not performance, is what sells Corvettes.
Chevy is right. The Corvette name is stocked with cachet, but it’s equal parts negative and positive. There’s a certain group of people who believe performance starts and stops with a fiberglass wedge from Bowling Green. Then there’s another group. The group that will deride the Corvette no matter what performance numbers it puts out or what other cars it beats.
For 2014, Chevrolet made a ton of promises again about the Corvette. This time, they’ve executed on basically all of them.
Styling has thrown decades of circular taillights and heritage into the trash, usurped with one of the most polarizing designs on the road today. The trash can interior is gone, replaced by something that’s actually decent. There’s innovation under the hood and in the drivetrain.
What Chevrolet has created is a car that is an incredibly Corvette-y Corvette, but also a car that can compete with the best from around the world. This is the right type of hybrid.
Exterior: 9/10
If you’re a Corvette traditionalist, you’re going to be pissed off. I parked the C7 next to a C6 , and the change is so drastic that it looks like this is actually a C12. Since the original Stingray, the Corvette has had round or oval rear taillights (bar a rounded rectangular interlude in the C4). And while tradition is tradition, it hasn’t evolved. If you think the evolution of the Porsche 911 is slow, then you haven’t looked closely at the Corvette.
Chevy knows that the exterior appearance of the C7 is divisive and will piss off the Corvette faithful. But they have to reach out beyond that group since the Corvette’s current owner base is aging. They need to extend that appeal, and making the car look like a Transformer is one way to do just that. I know not everyone loves it, but I do. I think this is the most dynamic looking car on the road.
I am not as keen on all the contrasting black accents. The car I drove was an obnoxious yellow that I’d never ever order. All of the black accents, like the wing, rear bumper, side gills, and more, look cheap. This just looks like an angular bumble bee.
Interior: 8/10
The last ‘Vette interior looked like vomit. It was a plastic hell with cheap textures and gauges (or gages, in GM parlance) that looks like they’d be at home in an Aveo. The seats were unsupportive barcaloungers and the gearshift looked like GM had a bigass gift card to Pep Boys.
The new Corvette’s interior is quite similar to another brand new performance car: The Jaguar F-Type. Both have a center touch screen flanked by a handle on the passenger side, a subtle way to say “hey, goober, don’t reach over here.” The stock seats (my car didn’t have the aggressive competition buckets) are better than the past, with actual bolsters on the side, though they could be better. Passengers get their own control near the vents for AC and seat heating, which is a nice touch.
But it isn’t all perfect. Sitting to each side of the TFT rev counter are gauges that look terribly cheap. I’d like to wheel to be a little smaller and thicker, possibly Alcantara covered. Also, the paddles for the rev match feature feel plasticky.
The Corvette has never been about its interior. I don’t think the interior of the C7 is as massive a leap forward from the C6 as the exterior, but “crap interior” is no longer a valid reason to leave the ‘Vette off your list.
